North Shore Collection Agency sent me a notice that I owe Publishers Clearing House Money. The fact is that I never ordered or received anything from Publishers Clearing House.
Over the next two months, I received phone calls from agents that work for North Shore Collection Agency stating to me that if I didn't pay Publishers Clearing House that they were going to come to my house and kill me. I am very upset and have notified the FBI and Homeland Security. I plan on suing North Shore Collection Agency and Publishers Clearing House.
No one has the right to threaten any persons life. They are going to pay!
I owe them NOTHING but they continue to harass!

North Shore Agency and Working Mother magazine
I received a collection letter from North Shore Agency stating that I owed Working Mother Magazine 12.00. So, I immediately contacted Working Mother Magazine via email and explained the situation.
First email back from the magazine said that she had contacted North Shore and told them to take my name off list and that my credit rating would not be affected. Then get second letter from someone else at Working Mother Magazine saying they could not find my account and I needed to provide that or my mailing address (in my original letter to them i told them I did not have an an account and did provide them with my address at the bottom of the letter) so I had to email her back that information. Then the next day get another email from the first lady stating again that she would contact North Shore Agency (this is the one that had already stated that she had contacted them) and that she also found out that they received one of those cards that falls out of magazines all the time with my name and address on it in December. So apparently someone had filled that out according to them, but what makes no sense to me is that I never received a magazine or bill before.
So how could they send me to collections? How can a magazine send you to collections anyway? Usually if someone does not pay for the magazine, they would not be sending them out, I think. Working Mother Magazine never denied that they were using North Shore Agency, nor would they tell me how someone can be sent to collections over a magazine.
Very fishy sounding to me.

North Shore Agency FedEx scam
I received a fake FedEx bill with out an account number, looked real enough but I also received a collection notice from North Shore Agency with the same invoice number. I guess we know who sent the fake invoice, FedEx was not interested much but the US Postal service is.
Save the fake paper and take it to your post office. Mail fraud is big trouble for North Shore. Please do your part in stopping this type fraud by filing a compaint with USPS and saving some body else from getting taken advantage of.
If you do nothing it will continue and FedEX did not seam to care. I guess I will use UPS from now on.
NORTH SHORE AGENCY - SCAM - Collection letter for magazine I never heard about or care about.
My daughter received a collection notice for a Magazine, from North Shore Agency. She did not solicit or request the magazine.
NSA sent HER a collection notice for $24.00. I have contacted the magazine - yet to hear back, so I filed a complaint with the AG's office and BBB. Want some good reading, search the BBB for this agency and take a gander. Go figure.
I didn't order the mag, my wife didn't order the mag and my daughter didn't order the mag, wonder if the collection agency did?, maybe they should send themselves a collection notice?!?!
Also makes you wonder just who is in on the scam? Maybe the AG's office can determine that.
North Shore Agency reported to state's Attorney General and FTC

They threatened to come to your house and kill you. That is so absurd I am sitting here laughing my - off.
So they threatened to kill you for what a $20-$30 bill that is not even reasonable to assume that happened. I understand if your upset an agency would call you or send you a letter about a debt you don't owe. First understand that they are a legit agency and they collect on accounts which their clients (I.E. publishers clearing house etc..) advise them are owed.
So if you have an issue with being billed for something you didn't receive then your true issue is with the client not Northshore. Under the FDCPA public law 109 (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act) you have a few options which you can and should follow. First you have the right to dispute the debt which you can and should do by sending them a letter either by registered mail or even fax stating that you do not owe the bill - they are then required to either provide proof that you do or to drop the debt and remove it from your credit report.
The second thing you can do is to request they cease and desist all collection efforts. The second option should not be necessary if you dispute the debt - Whatever you do don't just ignore it or advise them to cease and desist without disputing as the account will remain on your credit report until you formally dispute said debt.
I just got the first notice for the exact same thing. Funny is that it is for my husband who has been deployed overseas almost a year!
I cannot get ahold of anyone at the company to inform them they are breaking the law, but to no avail. Thank you for posting this, if I get a phone call I will do exactly the same as you and inform the FBI, since I also work for the government.
